“Shannon Sharpe, whatever I did, I apologize”: Kevin Durant mocks Undisputed co-host for his meltdown following Blake Griffin signing with the Nets

Shannon Sharpe was indignant at Kevin Durant for his double standards regarding superteams while recruiting Blake Griffin, so KD ‘apologized’.

The Brooklyn Nets are very close to becoming the betting favorites for this year’s NBA title. They have a 24-13 record, good enough for the second spot in the Eastern Conference.

KD hasn’t played the last several games for them, but James Harden is playing at an MVP level while orchestrating their offense. They are on track to become the first team since the 80s Nuggets to average over 120 points per game.

Their per-game average of 121.1 points per game is 2.3 points better than the Bucks this season. They rank 15th all-time in this category, way ahead of any competition from the 21st century.

All signs point to them being the pre-eminent force in the NBA right now. The betting odds are still in the favor of the Lakers, but the Nets’ odds keep getting shorter as the season progresses.

Kevin Durant replies to Shannon Sharpe

Sharpe called Durant out for recruiting Blake Griffin to an already stacked superteam. Durant caught wind of this, and found the perfect opportunity for a jesting jab:

It’s definitely KD’s prerogative to team up with whoever he likes, for the NBA has become a league of superteams now. While KD might once have been starting at the Miami Heat, he knows that its difficult to win without a stacked team.

It’s also nice that KD isn’t taking himself too seriously. We’ve seen him get into squabbles with fans online – sometimes from his original account, sometimes from his burners. We can add this to that list of events.
