“Everybody expects it to be LeBron James, but it isn’t”: Dwyane Wade reveals who favourite teammate of all-time is
Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade revealed who his favourite all-time teammate is. Shockingly, that player isn’t his fellow ‘Banana Boat’ crew LeBron James.
Dwyane Wade has had an illustrious career. In his 16-year long career, there have been many players the 6-foot-4 guard has played against and alongside with.
One player in particular who has had a “peanut butter and jelly” like relationship with him is current Lakers superstar LeBron James. The two superstars have often spoken about their strong relationship on and off the court. It’s very clear that both the former Heat champions are going to be friends for life.
One would believe that Wade’s answer to who his all-time favourite teammate was, would naturally be James. Although, DWade gave an unexpected answer and chose Miami Heat big man – Udonis Haslem. Wade revealed:
“That’s a tough question right there because your favourite teammate is not normally the names that people know so it’s not normally the star players right everybody wants me to say LeBron.”
“We came in together but whenever I was in the club, whenever I was out anywhere in Miami, whenever I was on the court, UD (Udonis Haslem) have my back.”
“UD and I have this brotherhood”: Dwyane Wade explains why Haslem is his favourite teammate
It is understandable why Wade would choose Udonis Haslem as his favourite all-time is. The two Miami Heat stars almost spent their entire careers playing alongside each other. Apart from the 18-month period back in 2016, Wade spent his whole career playing in Miami with Udonis.
Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem exchanged uniforms after the game. Wade on UD: “He was one of the first men that I told I love him. You know, it’s hard for men to tell another man I love him. He’s one of the first men I told I love him because I do. I definitely do. He’s a brother”

The two, playing fourteen and a half seasons together, are the NBA’s second-longest tenured teammates. The Future Hall-Of-Famer Wade also explained why he never had to worry off the court cause Haslem had his back. The 39-year-old added:
“We started building a brotherhood. So obviously we got closer, and we won championships together you know I mean we did all that but like off the court I ain’t never had to worry about nothing in Miami because it’s like ‘yo UD got me’.”
