Chelsea Targeting Porto’s Jesus Corona In June Transfer

The London based club has identified a 20 million pound deal for the player

Despite missing out on Jesus Corona’s transfer last summer, Chelsea are all set to launch another bid for the player. A change of manager has done little to dissuade the club’s ownership from moving for the player with the side’s supremos said to be sold on the fullback.

Chelsea Set To Move For Corona

According to Ficahjes, the Premier League side is ready to activate Corona’s transfer clause ahead of the new season. However, the club will need to move in quickly if it wants to swoop for the player with Corona’s 21.4 million pound clause active only till this June.

Porto are said to demand anything upwards of 30 million pounds proceeding that date, a figure Chelsea look unlikely to pay. The London based side is said to have been enticed by the player owing to his versatility expertise, one which allow him to play in both the right back and right attacking role.

Corona’s searing runs have seen him pull off an impressive 3 goals and 11 assists for Porto this term. The defender will be looking to impress his potential employers when he comes across them in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next month.

Corona’s agent, Matias Burge had last year spoken about how Corona and Chelsea had touched base over a transfer but nothing fruitful had transpired.

Agent Matias Bunge claimed last May to Medio Tiempo: “At some point we talked to them. I cannot say if he’s option A, B or C, now they are rather rumours.

‘”We’ll have to wait a bit for this to continue moving forward and for the leagues to begin again, and from there see what the next movements will be because the market is a little bit stopped.

“He has two years left on his contract. He did awaken a lot of interest for his participation in this particular tournament which has been outstanding and at a high level, but now with the current situation of the virus everything has slowed down a bit. The signings are in quarantine.”
