Eden Hazard embarrassingly manages to miss an open goal for Real Madrid vs Galatasaray

Eden Hazard embarrassingly manages to miss an open goal for Real Madrid vs Galatasaray in the Champions League tonight.

Real Madrid have not had the best of fortunes this season. The club may be sitting at 2nd position in the La Liga. However, they have been far from convincing and their recent performance against Mallorca is evidence that there are still plenty of chinks in their armour.

Their performance in the Champions League has been much more worrisome. The side that very recently won 3 European Championships on the trot, failed to register a victory in their first 2 matches. Their loss to PSG in their opening encounter was followed by a 2-2 draw with Club Brugge at home.

Their match against Galatasaray would soon become a must win encounter with various publications reporting that Zinedine Zidane’s future at the club depended on the team’s performance tonight.

Toni Kroos’ strike in the first half ensured that Real Madrid would walk away victorious. However, Eden Hazard’s blunder ensured that Real Madrid would still walk away with much ridicule.

Eden Hazard joined Real Madrid this summer as a Galactico signing. The former Chelsea man however, has left his form at Stamford Bridge. The Belgian has found it hard to get going for the Royal whites so far. In 7 matches across all competitions for Real, Hazard has only managed a goal and an assist so far.

It was believed that Hazard was bought in as a replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo. However, he has failed to deceive so far and did himself no favours after missing one of the easiest chances so far.

Real Madrid manage to weave together a brilliant attack. Hazard happened to be the last piece of the onslaught and successfully managed to dribble past the keeper. However, with an open goal in front of him, Hazard struck the cross bar instead.

Both Zinedine Zidane and Eden Hazard were tasked with Real Madrid’s revival; both in Spain and Europe. However, the duo have failed to raise Real Madrid from the dead. Fortunately for them though, Real Madrid’s victory tonight should take some weight off their shoulders.
