“I don’t have an opinion about what Jurgen says”: Zinedine Zidane Responds To Jurgen Klopp’s Training Ground Jibe
The Liverpool manager made an absurd claim during the two sides showdown
Over the years, despite tasting consummate success with Liverpool, one quality which has stood out when it comes to Jurgen Klopp is his inability to digest defeat.
Despite being welcoming of criticism and trying to dissect the issues pulling his side down, the Liverpool bigwig has indulged in making excuses to disguise his problem. And its seen him peddle out some outlandish comments, ranging from blaming the wind to the length of the grass.
Klopp Blames Stadium For Defeat
He added another bemusing excuse to his lengthy list ensuing his club’s horrid 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Liverpool manager blamed Real Madrid’s Di Stefano stadium for his team’s defeat as he called the pitch a training ground.
“This here tonight was really strange because it was a difficult situation in the stadium, but Anfield is at least a proper stadium and that will be good for us,” Klopp said after the defeat.
Zidane Least Interested In Klopp’s Comments
Real Madrid who have been using the Di Stefano 6,000 seater venue since the last year owing to constructions at the Bernabeu Stadium utilised the venue for their quarter-final as well. And Real Madrid’s manager, Zinedine Zidane was quick to shut down Klopp’s comments.
“I don’t have an opinion about what Jurgen says, we are proud to play in this stadium.”
Zidane also awaited a tricky affair when he travels to Anfield next week and said the tie was far from completed.
“Liverpool is the opponent and we know they are going to leave all they have on the pitch, I have no question about that,” Zidane said.
“We just need to be ready and it is going to be a very good second leg match. We will need to do the same thing in the second leg.
“We are happy with the result but we have won nothing. We are happy with the performance and what the players have done is huge after a lot of difficulties in our season.
“There is a long road ahead and we are alive. Today is the first leg but we’ll know we’ll have a second leg and our idea is to think that we go into that and the result will be 0-0.
