“LeBron James didn’t tell Anthony Davis he was back from injury?” Lakers MVP revealed his return to play after Montrezl Harrell sent hilarious GIF on team group chat
LeBron James revealed that he was coming back from injury to his teammates when Montrezl Harrell sent a hilarious GIF on the team chat.
The Los Angeles Lakers have had a strange month of April to say the least. Though they did have their two superstars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis return from their respective injuries last month, their addition to the starting lineup hasn’t translated to a string of wins as of yet.
This all came to a boil when the Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings, 100-106 last night, a team that has the worst defensive rating in the entirety of the NBA and was without their star point guard, De’Aaron Fox.
Following the loss, LeBron James gave Lakers fans even more of a scare when he took to his postgame availability to say that he believes he’ll never be at a 100% ever in his career. Regardless, having the reigning Finals MVP back in the lineup will start to bare more fruit as time goes on. Anthony Davis laid it out perfectly by saying that he would much rather prefer the Lakers figure it out now, instead of in the Playoffs.
How did LeBron James reveal his return from injury to his team?
According to Lakers reporter Ryan Ward, LeBron James didn’t personally tell his teammates of his return from his ankle sprain. Instead, Montrezl Harrell sent a GIF of people dancing to the team group chay=t, which everyone automatically understood as him coming back.

Surprisingly so, Anthony Davis also found out this same way. It would be assumed that considering how close Davis and LeBron are, the Latter would’ve given AD a heads-up about his injury status. It seems as though James just wanted to get the message out to all of his teammates at once.
Either way, the manner in which LeBron James announced his return doesn’t matter as what matters is that he returned from injury. The Lakers need every win they can muster as they would prefer not to fall into the play-in tournament. They are currently the 6th seed and are merely 1 game back from falling to the 7th seed.
With the next 4 of their 5 games coming against Western Conference powerhouses like the Suns, Clippers, and Nuggets, the Lakers will have to dig deep to pull out wins against these teams.
