“I feel like I’m LeBron James”: Zaire Wade dunks it with his head above rim as Bronny James watches on
Zaire Wade is a 4-star recruit, but even he can get his head up at the rim with help. The teenager said he ‘feels like LeBron James’ after this dunk.
Now 19 years old, Zaire is only lightly being recruited by top D1 programs. A path to the NBA might be through a 4-year college career for him, much like his dad before him.
Wade spent the final year of his high school basketball career with Brewster Academy. He did this in order to improve his guard skills and play with better talent alongside him. But before this, he was teammates with Bronny James at the Sierra Canyon High School.
Probably the best part of being a high school basketball player is the incessant striving to test your physical limits. You’re less likely to be deterred by a seemingly unattainable athletic goal as a youngster than after growing up.
Most of America’s budding ballers have grown up idolizing LeBron James and his generation of basketball players. They’d naturally want to match these superstars’ athletic feats in their own practice sessions.
“I’m feeling like LeBron James”: Zaire Wade to Bronny James during a dunking session
One of the most viral clips of Zaire and Bronny playing together is from a practice session in school settings. The youngsters are still exploring the heights of their athletic ability in their quest to emulate the likes of LeBron James.
Dunkfests are one of the several ways youth basketball players have fun on the basketball court. It’s especially more fun when players help each other elevate their vertical leap and use party tricks to do so.
Zaire was lucky enough to play with a like-minded group at Sierra Canyon. In the following clip, you can see just how his teammates propel him higher up in the air after his takeoff for the dunk attempt.

“I’m feeling like LeBron James” are Zaire’s exact words, and you can’t blame him. He did sort of levitate through the air for an unreal time after the pushoff. I imagine this is what LeBron feels like when he’s floating in the air and posterizing people?
Bronny James absolutely loved the dunk attempt, as you can see from his reaction. After all, even his father can’t get his head that far above the rim without help!
