Reggie Miller believes Kevin Durant is the most important player on the Nets, not James Harden: “The Nets can’t afford to lose KD”

Former NBA star and current analyst, Reggie Miller claims that the Brooklyn Nets can win without James Harden but not without Kevin Durant

Ever since the formation of the Big 3 in Brooklyn, injury has been a problem for them. The three superstars barely have seven games together. However, the Nets flourished when Harden-Durant or Harden-Kyrie were playing together. They climbed to the top of the Eastern standings. Now that James Harden has been injured for a bit, the Nets dont seem as impenetrable as they were a month ago.

Although Durant and Kyrie Irving are playing really well, it was James Harden that glued everything togehter for the team. This was one of the main reason why James Harden was regarded as the most important player on the Brooklyn roster. His numbers and stats prove the same as well. However, Reggie Miller does not agree with that idea.

Reggie Miller snubs James Harden, calls Kevin Durant the best player on the Nets

Reggie Miller is a 18 year NBA veteran, and is a bonafide legend in the game. His sharpshooting from the 3s had him retire as the top 3 point shooter in the NBA. Miller knows the game as he sees it. In a recent interview on the Dan Patrick show, Miller explains why he feels the Nets wont suffer much in the absence of James Harden, as long as they have Kevin Durant healthy.

“I think they can’t afford to lose KD for an extended period of time because he is arguably the best player in my opinion in the league and he’s closer.”

“Kyrie would be second because of his ball-handling and shot-making ability, and I think when James Harden does eventually return, he is going to take on the de facto point guard. He’s going to defer a lot and score when he needs to, but I think he’ll be the bonafide true point guard on this team once he returns.“

As the league waits for the regular season to end and the standings to solidify, the Nets would hope their stars stay healthy and Harden makes a comeback to the court soon. As long as the Nets stars are healthy, they do seem to have the clear shot at winning the ring this season.
