“They lying”: Knicks star Julius Randle admits to tracking his stats through the scoreboard during games, accuses his NBA rivals of lying
New York Knicks star Julius Randle openly admits to watching scoreboards during his games, calls others who deny doing the same a liar
The New York Knicks rode past the San Antonio Spurs with a fourth-quarter comeback. They won the match 102-98, thanks to the bench rising up, especially Alec Burks with his 30 points. Julius Randle finished with almost a triple-double, recording 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. RJ Barrett contributed 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. For the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan scored a team-high 27 points, but they ended up short in the final frames of the game.
With this win tonight, the Knicks now have the same record as the Miami Heat. The Heat have the tiebreaker, because of the season series win. Both of these teams are half a game behind the Atlanta Hawks. If the three teams are to end up in a tie, the Hawks hold the tiebreaker, as they are their division champions. The Heat gets the second spot due to the season series, and the Knicks end up on the 6th spot in the East.
Julius Randle says he checks other scoreboards during his games
Julius Randle has been having a tremendous season this year. The 26-year-old is showing the league that players can show tremendous improvements even after years of being in the league. He is the top candidate for the Most Improved player this season and is the reason behind the Knicks’ success.
In the interview post the win over the Spurs, Randle was asked whether he checks other teams’ scoreboards during his game. To that, he replied and said, “People who say they’re not watching are liars.”

With playoffs just two games away, Julius Randle and co would be hoping to cause some upsets. They have already exceeded all expectations and gotten this far in the season, whatever they do, it would be looked to as a sign of progress.
