Damian Lillard has broken LeBron James’s record in the 4th quarter and will soon enough break Kobe Bryant’s record as well. 

The Portland TrailBlazers have had a rollercoaster of a season to say the least. This is mainly due to a bevy of injuries that plagued the team over the course of the season. Guys like CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic were out for an extended period of time and Damian Lillard was forced to carry a massive load on his shoulders for a majority of the year. 

Despite the injuries, Dame’s outstanding numbers never faltered as he more or less maintained his 30 points per game average throughout the season. Though he did have a cold stretch of games in April, he bounced back and has scored more than 30 points in his last 7 games.

The Blazers are currently 41-30 on the season and need to win their last game of the year against the Denver Nuggets to solidify their seed as a top 6 out West. Reaching 42 wins would also help save that one Blazer fan’s house. 

Damian Lillard is on pace to break Kobe Bryant’s record as he’s already broken LeBron James’s. 

If there’s one thing Damian Lillard is known for, it’s the fact that he’s a crunch-time assassin. Dame-Time was born due to the Oakland native’s heroics down the stretch and has produced some of the most memorable game-winners in NBA history. 

So, it’s no surprise that the king of the 4th quarter is about to break a record that is related to the 4th quarter. Dame has scored 20+ points in the fourth quarter of games, 8 times in his career. This means he not only surpassed LeBron James’s 7, but is on pace to demolish Kobe Bryant’s 11.

His 8th time scoring 20+ in the 4th came against the Suns two nights ago where he had 41 points on tonight and singlehandedly tore up Phoenix’s defense from the inside. Unfortunately for Dame and the Blazers, they lost 118-117 in a heartbreaker.
