“Maybe LeBron James should try some Mountain Dew Rise at halftime”: Skip Bayless berates Lakers star for abysmal first half outing against Warriors during their play in game
LeBron James shot just 1-of-7 from the field in his first half against the Warriors today. Skip Bayless seems to be enjoying the Lakers’ struggles.
Most people foresaw the Lakers as the de facto favorites ahead of their play in game vs the Warriors. ‘LeBron James and Anthony Davis?’ they said.
Well it seems the Lakers duo is way off mark on the night judging from the evidence we’ve seen thus far. Their offense has clear spacing problems and their 3-ball is not falling at any sort of a consistent rate.
They went into halftime with a 55-42 deficit and staring up a long and uphill climb. It’ll take a Herculean effort from their big two or some quick and effective shooting from downtown to keep pace with the Warriors for the rest of the game.
Skip Bayless clowns LeBron James for his Mountain Dew commercials
Skip is one of those people who ‘reverse jinxed’ the Lakers ahead of the game. Bayless tweeted that the Lakers would win by 20 points this morning. He’s obviously got that wrong, so he’s moved on to LeBron, who’s always his main topic of conversation:
“Maybe LeBron should try some Mt. Dew Rise at halftime.”

LeBron and AD absolutely have to step their game up in the second half obviously. But it’s more than a matter of the Lakers merely pulling their socks up.
What we can’t do is take credit away from the Warriors. Draymond Green put Anthony Davis on lockdown, deflecting entry passes to him and in general, making his life miserable on offense.
The Lakers are expending a ton of energy in keeping the ball away from Steph during their defensive possessions. It’ll take some amount of game-planning to effectively do this for the rest of the game.
