“If poking LeBron James in the eye gets us this, we should all do it more”: Anthony Davis jokes about Lakers star’s clutch game winner vs Warriors while ‘seeing three rims’
Anthony Davis was in good spirits after the Lakers’ win in the play in game. He joked that they should poke LeBron James in the eye more often.
The Lakers registered a classic comeback win after going 13 points behind the Warriors to the locker room. Their 3rd quarter outburst on offense and their defensive intensity in the second half was instrumental in winning them the game.
James and Anthony Davis weren’t at their best on the night. This was both by design and because of fitness issues. Draymond Green was hounding every pass made to AD and making his life miserable all in in all. James, meanwhile, was unable to get to the line or force his man out of his way for buckets as he’d do when fully fit.
They pulled through nonetheless, and both of them still had their fair share of moments. But the biggest moment of the night, by a very big margin, was squarely about LeBron James and his clutch gene.

The former Kentucky one-and-done product was understandably on a high after the Lakers’ win. This carried over to his postgame presser, where he praised LeBron for his one-eyed shot with a rather predictable joke:
“We might need to poke LeBron in his eye a lot more to hit shots like that. He’s done it his whole career, always hitting shots from that type of range.”

James would be looking to greatly improve his performances in the upcoming playoff series. This will be the first time he faces nemesis and Banana Boat brother Chris Paul in the playoffs. He’ll be doing his best to bring his A-Game in front of the hypercompetitive Point God.
