Real reason why Velveteen Dream was released by WWE NXT. The former NXT North American Champion departed the company this week.

Wrestling fans have asked the WWE to fire Velveteen Dream for months now. However, their demands continued to fall on deaf ears. The former NXT North American Champion had been accused of sending innappropriate pictures to minors. However, the WWE looked into the situation and claimed that they found no cause for action.

Even though he wasn’t used a lot he was still kept around until he was released alongside Jessamyn Duke, Vanessa Borne (Danielle Kamela), Skyler Story (Brandi Lauren Pawalek, Ava Storie), Ezra Judge (Ezekwesiri “EJ” Nduka Jr.), Alexander Wolfe (Axel Tischer), and Kavita Devi (Kavita Dalal) this week.

While the rest departed the company due to budget cuts, Velveteen Dream had a different reason.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Dream’s release was not due to previous allegations against him, but more because of the behavioral issues.

“For whatever reason, WWE clearly believes that he didn’t do anything, so that’s it. So, why was he fired? Like I said, I don’t know. But I do know this that there were a lot of problems with Velveteen Dream didn’t have anything to do with any accusations.”

“There were behavioral problems with Velveteen Dream, and Triple H, he didn’t go into a lot of detail, but when Velveteen Dream was off television Triple H said it was the result of a car accident.

“Was it the car accident? I don’t know. But I do know is that if you follow the career, the on-screen career of Velveteen Dream. How many times was Velveteen Dream featured and he just vanished for an extended period of time? It happened all the time.”

“The impression I’ve been given is the reason he regularly vanished for extended periods of time was due to outside of the ring issues; whatever those might be. At some point, what can you do with the guy?”

There were several other examples of said issues, from his time in NXT, and from when he went to other places, such as EVOLVE.

There’s no word on what Dream might be planning for the future, but he is under a standard 30-day non-compete clause with his NXT contract. He will be free to sign with other companies after Saturday, June 19.
