Britney Abrahams Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon is in the middle of yet another controversy. The WWE Executive Chairman is in the thick of yet another lawsuit. This time, he is being sued by former WWE writer Britney Abrahams. She was terminated by the promotion for taking home a commemorative chair with “WrestleMania 38” branding. However, she claims that other writers have done so with no consequence and the reason for her firing is in fact, much more sinister.

She believes that she is a victim of discrimination in a hostile work environment. The reason for her being a target is her standing against what she believed were racially stereotypical, sexist and offensive storylines.

Who is Britney Abrahams and why is she suing Vince McMahon and WWE?

In a Lawsuit filed on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, Plaintiff Britney Abrahams has alleged that during her time in the WWE she witnessed several pitches for offensive storylines that were both racist and sexist in nature.

The Lawsuit, by Plaintiff Britney Abrahams, lists the WWE, Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and five other backstage employees as defendants.

Some of the bizarre storylines listed in the Lawsuit include pitches for a Muslim wrestler. A certain writer wanted Mansoor to reveal that he masterminded the 9/11 attacks. Interestingly, Mansoor was only 6 when the unfortunate terrorist attacks took place.

She also revealed pitched promos written for RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, who is a black female athlete, that included “racist and stereotypical jargon.”

Abrahams has also alleged that the WWE wanted Nigerian born wrestler Apollo Crews to speak in an over-the-top Nigerian accent.

There was also a pitch for a white wrestler to be branded as hunter. His victims would be primarily black wrestlers who would be imprisoned in cages.

She recalled opposing a pitch for Aliyah to be presented as a bimbo with no agency over her thoughts and actions.

Abrahams believes that her actions resulted in the WWE putting her in a position where she had no prior experience. This was done, so they could undermine and humiliate her.

Their retaliatory actions eventually resulted in her termination from the company.

Per the Lawsuit, she is seeking reinstatement, damages, declaratory judgment, and an injunction restraining defendants from engaging in such unlawful conduct.

Britney Abrahams joined the WWE back in 2020.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
