“You don’t want to see us next year”: Steph Curry hints towards a revenge season coming next year following disappointing loss to Ja Morant and the Grizzlies
Stephen Curry issues an ominous warning to the NBA about how dangerous the Golden State Warriors will be next season
The Golden State Warriors’ season has finally come to a bit of a disappointing end. The loss against the Lakers was understandable and even expected. However, Stephen Curry and the team were expected to beat Memphis to snatch the 8th seed ahead of the NBA playoffs.
Unfortunately for the team, while their offense wasn’t bad for most of the game, the team’s defense broke down in key moments. Nerves were shown and confusion abounded within the roster, which eventually culminated in a 117-112 defeat in overtime.
After the game, Curry was understandably distraught. However, instead of focusing on the negatives, he looked straight at the camera and delivered a very scary message to the rest of the NBA.

“You don’t want to see us next year”: Stephen Curry believes that the Golden State Warriors will be a scary team next season
With this season done and dusted for the Warriors, fans of the franchise are now looking forward to what’s next. And we must say, the immediate future is looking very encouraging at the moment. And Stephen Curry is no different it seems. Here is what he had to say in his post-game interview.
“You talk about what we didn’t have, what we lacked. But we did have a lot of heart… Just didn’t go our way… (We will) come back, bottle this up, everybody make the right strides, take advantage of the summer. You don’t want to see us next year.”

At first, many may scoff a bit at Curry’s statement. However, when you look at what the Warriors have in store for next season, you start to realize that the Chef could be scarily right.
The team will potentially have 2 lottery picks in a draft that is expected to be one of the strongest drafts in NBA history. Additionally, as it stands, Klay Thompson is closing in on being fully healthy, and will likely return next season.
And to put the cherry on top, the experience the younger players have now is massive. The fact that they were competitive against the Lakers in a scenario similar to the playoffs is huge. It speaks to how much the team has grown in such a short amount of time.
You accumulate all that, and you indeed have a frightening team. And as Steph said, teams will probably not want to see this franchise in the NBA playoffs next season.
