“If you would have told me before coming to Monaco”– Carlos Sainz on P2 in Monaco
“If you would have told me before coming to Monaco”– Carlos Sainz on his third podium of his career and winning it in Monaco for Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz must have dreamt days like these, as he takes P2 at Monaco Grand Prix after having an intense battle with Max Verstappen for most of the race.
Ferrari had a good qualifying, as they secured a pole, but they met with an early misfortune, with Charles Leclerc unable to join the grid due to the left driveshaft issue.
But Sainz podium made Ferrari’s day, and he also got to share it with his best friend Lando Norris, for whom this is the second podium of the season.

Speaking on his glorious run in Monte Carlo, Sainz is proud of the Ferrari car and has urged the Tifosis to be too, as they had an excellent weekend.
“If you would have told me before coming to Monaco I would have finished second I would have definitely taken it, it’s just all the circumstances of the weekend having Charles on pole, me missing out yesterday on a good lap, it’s just maybe doesn’t taste as good as it should,” said Sainz To Skysports.
“But I’m sure when I will reflect back in the week I will be very happy and proud of the weekend. Ferrari need to be proud of the car and the step they have done this year.”
Max Verstappen too strong
Sainz, for once, was near to Verstappen in the race but eventually trailed even further; as Verstappen cruised away with the win, also narrow lanes of Monaco prevents one from making an overtake.
Thus, in the end, Sainz accepted his place and guarded his satisfactory position till the end of the race and lifted the trophy for Ferrari.
