NBA Analyst Jim Jackson compares LeBron James and his offense to Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, says he’s not at their level

Over the course of the past four decades, there have been three main names that have dominated the hearts of the fans. Michael Jordan ruled the basketball world, till Kobe Bryant took the mantle. Now it’s LeBron James who is ruling the basketball world. Over time, these three names have established themselves as the most dominant figures in the basketball world.

For the past few years, there has been a constant debate among fans and analysts alike about the Greatest of All Time. The two main names on everyone’s list are Michael Jordan and LeBron James. However, one cannot exactly compare the impact each of them had, as the eras are different.

Jim Jackson says LeBron James not as offensively aggressive as others

Jim Jackson was the in NBA for 14 years as a player. Now he is one of the better analysts. Having played against all three of these legends, he knows quite a bit about all three and how they play. LeBron has always been known for his pass-first playstyle. The other two liked to take things head-on and score the points for themselves.

He was recently on the Dan Patrick Show, where he talked about each of the three superstars. According to Jackson,

I’d say Mike No.1. Just for the sheer fact that Mike, offensively and defensively, the way he attacked in multiple positions where you can put him. And, he was very efficient.

Now, LeBron is very efficient, but LeBron won’t be as aggressive offensively. Mike was always like that Kobe was like that.

LeBron is so methodical in this thing, the mindset was like Magic [Johnson]. ‘Okay, Imma beat you with this, and if I get it going from here I’m fine.’ Would Mike beat you from the 3-point line back in the day? No, not really. But, free-throw line, he’d get to his spots, and he really didn’t take bad shots.

Sure Kobe and MJ were more aggressive in their approach, but that takes nothing from LBJ’s game. His pass-first mentality, while being able to score when needed is what makes him elite.
