New schedule of PSL 2021: The second phase of the sixth season of Pakistan Super League is likely to begin on June 7 in the UAE.

The sixth season of the Pakistan Super League, which had to be postponed due to COVID-19 earlier this year, is highly likely to begin its second phase from June 7 in Abu Dhabi.

The development was made public via an official release after PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) met with all franchise owners in an online session.

Originally planned to begin today (June 1), the second phase has received multiple delays due to various logistical reasons including prominent players not being allowed to travel to the UAE in a commercial flight. Former Pakistan captain and current Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was among the seven players who finally traveled to the UAE today.

The league phase of Pakistan Super League comprises of 34 matches. Before the tournament was brought to a halt, only 14 matches were conducted in Pakistan.

While PCB are yet to reveal the fixtures, they have provided a strong hint that the second phase will be played between June 7-24. Assuming the tournament begins on June 7, as many as three double-headers are in line to be played in the league phase with the final to be played on June 24 (Thursday).

A four-day delay in the culmination of PSL 2021 means that Pakistan team’s departure for their tour of England will also be postponed. According to the release, Pakistan will now leave the UAE for England on June 25 instead of June 23.

Scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is in England, the first ODI is slated to be played on July 8 in Cardiff.
