BBC Test Match Special Cricket Commentators: Michael Vaughan and Isa Guha in nine-member TMS team for New Zealand Tests

BBC Test Match Special Cricket Commentators: BBC have a nine-member commentary team for TMS 2021 for New Zealand Tests.

England’s international summer of this year kick-started yesterday with them hosting New Zealand for the first of a two-match Test series. Playing without multiple A-list players, England handed debut to wicket-keeper batsman James Bracey and pacer Ollie Robinson as they continue to add to their bench strength.

The iconic Lord’s, which had last hosted an international match during 2019 Ashes, isn’t just hosting a Test after almost a couple of years but also hosting one with spectators. As far as the capacity for this match is concerned, Lord’s is expected to allow a total of around 7,500 spectators per day.

Considering how England and New Zealand had last played a Test series against each other in the English conditions in 2015, both the teams are likely to put on display an intriguing tightly-fought series after six years in England.

BBC Test Match Special Cricket Commentators

Unlike last season where former cricketers such as Sir Alastair Cook, Andrew Strauss and Carlos Brathwaite were part of the commentary panel for BBC’s Test Match Special, this year has a majority of specialist (with non-playing background) experts on TMS.

Former England Men’s captain Michael Vaughan and former England women’s pacer Isa Guha are the only two former cricketers who are on BBC’s commentary panel for this series.

Other than Vaughan and Guha, the likes of Jonathan Agnew, Simon Mann, Daniel Norcross, Phil Tuffnell, Vick Marks, Jeremy Coney and Andy Zaltzman are part of a nine-member commentary team for this series.

The fact that all the aforementioned names have had successful careers in calling the game in the past speaks highly about the quality of information which the English fans are getting access to.
