“It would be too much”– Nico Rosberg doesn’t want to lead a Formula 1 team after seeing the hectic schedule of Toto Wolff.

Nico Rosberg has been inactive from Formula 1 ever since he retired, as he hasn’t taken any role within any team on the grid. Instead, he has only been active with the media side of the sport.

And now, the former world champion has claimed that he isn’t interested in handling a team in F1, as observing Toto Wolff has made him wary of the idea of those exploitative work hours.

“That doesn’t appeal to me,” Rosberg said when asked about the potential for running an F1 team in the future. “It would be too much. It’s a full-time job: morning, noon, evening, the whole day.

“When I see how intensely Toto works on the Formula 1 team, that’s not for me, I want to avoid that in my life. I experienced that as a driver, that intensity and dependence, and I don’t want that again.”

Money is not Nico Rosberg’s drive

Even if you offer him a bag full of cash, Rosberg is likely to refuse this work, as claimed by the German. He also cited sacrificing the remainder of the contract with Mercedes to have a peaceful post-retirement life.

“Salary has never played a role for me,” he said. “I still had two years left on my [Mercedes] contract, and the salary on that contract also had a lot of zeroes on it.

“You can’t motivate me with money, I have zero interest in that. I fulfilled my career the way I wanted to, with the world title, and I’m happy about my new life.

“So the thought never came up there, and it never will. That’s over,” he concluded. Rosberg is now plying his trade in Extreme E racing, where he has his own franchise.
