“The last thing I want to see is the Phoenix Suns pushing a broom across our court”: Nuggets’ Head Coach Mike Malone wants to avoid a sweep at all costs in Game 4

Nuggets Head Coach Mike Malone does not want the Nuggets to get swept by Chris Paul and the Suns, especially in front of the home crowd 

The Phoenix Suns continued their dominant play, as they made their way to Denver for Game 3. The Nuggets had hoped that coming home, their luck would change. However, Chris Paul and his Suns had a different plan. The Suns beat the Nuggets 116-102 at the Ball Arena last night.

Suns started the game with a determination to win the game and maintained it throughout. The Suns’ star guards shone yet again. Devin Booker scored a team-high 28 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Chris Paul scored 27 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished 8 assists.

The newly crowned MVP Nikola Jokic put up ridiculous numbers, but could not will the team to a win. He scored 32 points, grabbed 20 rebounds, and dished 10 assists.  While the bench was a bright light for the Nuggets, Coach Mike Malone couldn’t get his starters to perform.

No team likes to get swept in a playoff series. It feels even worse when the final game of the sweep is on your own homecourt. The Nuggets are on the brink of the same, and they would like to avoid the same at all costs.

Coach Mike Malone talked about the same post the game. He said,

“I know for myself, I can’t speak for anyone else, the last thing I want to see is the Phoenix Suns pushing a broom across our court after Game 4.”

Meanwhile, Suns’ star Devin Booker wants to wrap things up in Denver itself. After the game, Booker said,

“We’ve experienced one [closeout game] already. Knowing those guys aren’t going to give up. They’ve got the MVP of the league over there, they’re well coached by Mike Malone and they’ve got some players that play very hard. Nobody ever wants their season to end, so we know they’re going to give it their shot and we’re prepared for that.”

While the outcome of Game 4 cannot be predicted, it can sure be said that Game 4 would be one you wouldn’t want to miss. The Suns take on the Nuggets for Game 4 on Sunday.
