“Nikola Jokic looked happier when he received his horse racing trophy”: NBA Fans mock Denver’s superstar for his expressions when he held the 2021 NBA MVP award
NBA fans make fun of Nikola Jokic and his expressions as when received the MVP award. They claim he looked happier when he won a horse racing trophy.
Nikola Jokic has completely revolutionised how the centre position is played. Despite being a 6-foot-11 big man, Jokic can handle, pass and shoot the rock as consistent as a guard. This season, Jokic was arguably the best player there could be.
Playing all 72 games this season, the Serbian star averaged an incredible 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists while leading the Denver Nuggets to the third-best record in the West. For this, the league rightfully named Nikola as the 2020-2021 NBA MVP.
Surprisingly, the 26-year-old didn’t seem to be all that happy as everyone expected them to be. NBA fans took notice of this and reacted to it.

“Nikola Jokic looks happier with a horse racing trophy than the MVP award”: NBA fans
We all know about Nikola Jokic’s crazy obsession with horse racing. Redditor “Skreali” came across an old photo of Jokic holding a horse racing trophy and immediately pointed out that he seemed happier in that photo than when he was receiving his MVP award. Other NBA fans on Reddit commented:
“Why does Jokic look like a sad teddy bear and his brothers look like captains in the Serbian Mafia?”
“I would love to see where he puts this trophy in his house. I can imagine him just bringing it home and leaving it on the counter for months before eventually just putting it in a closet somewhere”
“Jokic receiving the most prestigious individual award in basketball: 😐”
“That’s how they won”
On Wednesday night, Jokic and his Nuggets had entered Game 3 with a 0-2 deficit. Maybe this can explain why Nikola didn’t quite look all that pumped receiving the prestigious honour.
Definitely, winning a championship is his top priority and currently suffering a 3-0 series loss, maybe the Joker can see his title aspirations slip out of his hands. Nevertheless, Nikola Jokic had a historic campaign this year and should definitely be proud of what all he has accomplished.
