“Giannis, as great as he is, he’s very limited”: Former NBA player Al Harrington takes a dig at the Milwaukee Bucks superstar
Former NBA forward Al Harrington recently made some controversial statements about the 2x NBA MVP and Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis’ biggest drawback over the years has been his inability to perform during the playoffs. The former DPOY has not been able to get past the conference finals and has even faced early-round exits in his last few appearances.
Many analysts and critics have cited Giannis’s inability to develop the jumper and his poor free-throw shooting as a major cause of concern. That has been a hurdle in his success as an overall player.
Former Knicks forward Al Harrington recently had some questionable statements to say about the former back-to-back MVP.
Former NBA forward Al Harrington cites limitations of the Milwaukee Bucks superstar
During the recent episode of the Bakari Sellers Podcast. Harrington spoke about how Giannis despite being a great player is very limited in certain aspects of the game.
The former NBA forward stated: “Why he’s so good is because all season he plays somebody once every couple of months, so you don’t really get a chance to game plan for him, so all that dribbling full court and dunking works”

The former Knicks forward also spoke about the opposing teams knowing Giannis’ weakness on the basketball court.
“We know you can’t go left, we know you can’t shoot the 3,’ you’re going to get exposed every time in a series,” Harrington said.
In the 2021 NBA Playoffs so far, Giannis has shot a discouraging 53.2% from the free-throw line and a dismal 17.1% beyond the arc.
The NBA has become a guard dominant league. Thus making shooting one of the most important skills in a player’s toolkit today.
Though Giannis performed exceptionally well in Game 6, saving the Bucks from an elimination. The Game 7 at Barclays Center is a “Go Big or Go Home” situation. It will be interesting to see if Giannis can pull through the Nets, who relatively have an injured roster.
“We’re built for this moment. No one said it was gonna be easy.”
