“Kendall Jenner rips into ‘Kardashian curse’ haters”: What is the Kardashian Curse and how has Devin Booker fared against it?
Kendall Jenner recently brought the Kardashian Curse back into the spotlight when she blasted Devin Booker fans for saying he beat the curse.
The Kardashians and the Jenners recently gathered at a round table to talk about this social media phenomenon. NBA Twitter kept bringing up the Kardashian curse for several years before it quieted down 2-3 years back.
Kendall Jenner, who’s dated NBA players in the past and is currently an item with Devin Booker, was brought fairly into focus in the context of this question. She responded with a straight bat to this:
“What I don’t like about the narrative is that the blame is on us. I think they need to put the responsibility on the men. They need to take that responsibility.”

Kendall definitely has a point. In fact, she probably gets several points from the extended Kardashian-Jenner family. After all, she’s singlehandedly quieted down the slander for her sisters and cousins given how her partners have performed.
How did the phrase Kardashian curse originate and catch on?
This phrase first came into pop culture in the early 2010s. NBA player Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian underwent a whirlwind romance, engagement, marriage and then a divorce within 3 months.
Humphries’ star was on the rise as a basketball player at the time he got married in August 2011. He’d just put together his first run of games as a starter in his career. At 26, he was looking to enter his prime as a starter with a playoff-bound team.
Kim filed for divorce in late October – 72 days after their wedding. Incensed by this, Humphries filed a countersuit to get the marriage annulled on the grounds of fraud or a decree of legal separation.
By the time the dust settled and Humphries finalized his divorce, he was out of the Nets’ starting lineup. He’d never be back to an NBA starter’s role ever again.
KimK’s subsequent relationship with Kanye West and the observable decline in the quality of music he put out after they got together helped this Twitter trend to kick on.
How Kendall Jenner and Devin Booker have subverted the running joke relating to the Kardashians
Kendall Jenner, who’s reportedly dated Jordan Clarkson, Blake Grifin and Ben Simmons among NBA players in the past, seems to have found the love of her life in Devin Booker judging from all the reports out there.
The Suns guard has been playing the best basketball of his life since getting together with her during Covid. Since their union, the Suns have gone 8-0 in the NBA bubble and are now leading 1-0 in the Western Conference Finals as the #2 seeds.
His 40-point triple-double in Game 1 was crucial in helping the Suns to a home victory in Game 1. He’ll be expected to carry the burden for them if they are to make the NBA Finals.
