“PJ Tucker, this is the first time you haven’t taken a corner shot”: Charles Barkley hilariously calls out Bucks’ defensive ace ahead of Game 1 vs Hawks
As PJ Tucker was casually shooting around pregame, Charles Barkley hilariously called the Bucks big man out for taking a shot that wasn’t from the corner.
This season, the Milwaukee Bucks are looking like the strong title contenders. After upsetting a Kevin Durant-led star-studded Brooklyn Nets team, the Bucks instantly became the favorites to win their first championship in 50 years. New acquisitions like Jrue Holiday and PJ Tucker have been exceptionally impactful for Giannis Antetokounmpo and co.
Playing against an inexperienced Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals, should probably a lot easier than their second-round battle against Brooklyn.
However, if there is one thing the league should look out for, is the grit and heart Atlanta plays with. And that’s exactly what Trae Young and the team displayed on Wednesday night.
In a close 116-113 encounter, All-Star Trae Young had an incredible night, while leading his team to the win. His outstanding 48-point, 11-assists and 7-rebounds performance absolutely eclipsed Giannis’ 34-point, 12 rebounds and 9-assists near triple-double outing.

“PJ Tucker, this is the first time you haven’t taken a corner shot”: Charles Barkley
The new addition, PJ Tucker has been a vital player for the Bucks. The intensity and energy he brings on both sides of the floor are exactly what Mike Budenholzer needs. However, in a game that went down to the wire, Tucker had merely 4 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
Surprisingly, during his pregame shoot-around, the 36-year-old was spotted taking some floaters. Just like several fans, Charles Barkley too was shocked to see the 6-foot-5 swingman take any other shot other than a corner three. Chuck hilariously confronted PJ:
“This is the first time I seen you take a shot that wasn’t in the corner.”
PJ Tucker, who had a mic on while his pregame shoot-around, laughed it off and justified it to Barkley.
“Chuck, you gotta space the floor. Man, that’s the game. Make sure Giannis can do what he do and do what I do.”
“This the first time I seen you take a shot that wasn’t in the corner.” 😂

Several players like Draymond Green have called PJ one of the best corner three-point shooters in the league. And ever since PJ Tucker started attempting three-pointers in his career, he seems to have an affinity for that shorter distance corner three-point area.
However, during these playoffs, the forward’s shooting from the corner has been subpar. In 29 attempts, Tucker has hit only 9 shots (30.8%). With Milwaukee trailing 1-0 in the conference finals series, the Bucks will hope to even the series before it becomes too late. Game 2 of this ECF will tip-off on Friday at 8:30 PM ET.
