“Well I got hacked”: Jalen Rose ends Jay Williams’ career on live TV with a joke referencing his tweet gaffe regarding Ime Udoka joining Boston Celtics

Jay Williams will soon be forced off ESPN sets if Jalen Rose is going to roast him the way he did ahead of Suns vs Clippers Game 3 today.

The former #2 pick in the NBA draft messed up his Twitter communications in the worst way imaginable. He put out a tweet through his official Twitter account congratulating Ime Udoka yesterday.

Contained in this tweet was a congratulatory message to the former Spurs and Nets assistant. This congratulatory message, incidentally, was for Udoka becoming the first black coach in Boston Celtics franchise history.

It didn’t take long for this laughably misinformed tweet to be taken down, but not before NBA fans took receipts. What happened later, however, was an even bigger indictment of Williams as a human being.

Jay came out with one of the most transparently blatant falsehoods as a way of explaining himself. He claimed that he didn’t make his tweet, and he seemed to imply from his next tweet that he’d been hacked. NBA fans didn’t buy any of that BS, and it seems Jalen Rose didn’t either.

The former Pacers and Raptors swingman was on ESPN’s pre-game show for today’s Game 3 with Jay Williams. The duo were discussing yesterday’s game between Milwaukee and Atlanta when this exchange took place.

Jay Williams: “I tried to tell my man JRose, he kept talking about how good the Bucks were defensively.”

Jalen Rose: “Well I got hacked.”

Neither of the duo seemed to display much chemistry or warmth towards the other after this quip. This isn’t the first time you’re seeing Jalen Rose ruthlessly roast a co-host either.

It’s nice to see when someone messes their job up and has their colleagues call them out on it. The world would be a less toxic place if Jay Williams took more care with his takes – or just went off TV to give them.
