“They can judge me on what they want to”: Paul George responds to his critics after 41 point explosion in game 5
Paul George believes he is picked on by the media more than any other player, and reacts to it after game 5 win against the Suns.
Has Paul George ever looked better in the postseason?
The player went ballistic during this game, recording 41 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists. Moreover, he did this on 15 of 20 from the field (75%), and 3 of 6 from three (50%).
Especially in the third, when the Suns were at their most threatening, PG went off, scoring basically every shot he took, and making big plays to put the game out of reach.
This was quite simply one of the player’s best performances ever, and he deserves all the credit in the world for it. But, after the game, he was asked to reflect on the criticism he has to deal with every day. And to it, he had a very interesting response.

“They can judge me on what they want to”: Paul George responds to his critics after 41 point explosion in game 5
Paul George is undoubtedly one of the most criticized stars in the NBA right now. To be fair to the media though, who wouldn’t be after being as disappointing as he was in the Orlando Bubble last season.
The star has come a long way since that whole fiasco though. When Kawhi Leonard was healthy, he was an elite second option for most of this postseason. And when he had to sit out, George stepped up big time, and has been leading this squad very well ever since.
Still, the star gets a ton of criticism from some of the more influential analysts in NBA community today. And after the game, George sent out a message to just about all of them.
“I do, and it’s the honest truth. It’s a fact. But I can’t worry about that. It comes with the job, I guess. It is what it is. … I still try to dominate the whole game in general. To me it doesn’t come down to just scoring.”
“I wish I could shoot 80%/75% on a nightly basis, but it’s not realistic. But what I can do is do everything else. It is what is, they can judge me on what they want to. … I’m gonna go out there and hoop and give it everything I got.”

We will admit, we were part of the faction that doubted Paul George’s abilities. Those performances in the Bubble were hard to forget after all.
Keep proving us wrong PG.
