Taskin Ahmed and Blessing Muzarabani fight: Emotions got the better of the two fast bowlers from Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

During the second day of the one-off Test between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in Harare, Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani and Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed were involved in an on-field heated exchange.

It all happened after the fourth delivery of the 85th over when Ahmed successfully managed to leave a pinpoint short delivery from Muzarabani. What seems to have irked Muzarabani was the manner in which Ahmed did a bit of a dance step on the pitch after managing to sway away from the line of the delivery.

The frustration of Zimbabwean bowlers not being able to pick a ninth wicket was evident from Muzarabani’s actions as he went straight into Ahmed to utter a few words. In response, Ahmed too didn’t shy away from saying a few words.

While the ninth-wicket partnership was just above 30 runs at that point in time, Mahmudullah and Ahmed went on to put together a record 191-run partnership for the ninth wicket. In what was his maiden Test half-century, Ahmed contributed with a valiant 75 (134) comprising of 11 fours.

Playing a Test after more than a year, Mahmudullah scoring a career-best 150* (278) with the help of 17 fours and a six played a titular role in Bangladesh posting 468/10 in 126 overs after being reduced to 132/6 on Day 1.

With bowling figures of 29-4-94-4, Muzarabani was the pick of the Zimbabwean innings in the first innings. Other than Muzarabani, Donald Tiripano and Victor Nyauchi also picked a couple of wickets each.
