WATCH: Mohammed Shami’s late assault provokes Virat Kohli
Sri Lanka came well prepared with tactical plans with an attempt to outsmart India. Much to their expectations, they announced their arrival against India in style.
With the first half of India’s batting unit falling into the trap set by the Lankans, the second half had to strive hard to shrug off the ignominy.
In the fag end of India’s batting, the tail-enders, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav played some wonderful shots. At one point, India were doubtful of touching 150-mark.
The pacers behaved like batsmen and carried out the business. They took the Lankan bowling attack to cleaners. Every short pitched and length ball they faced, it was a bonus to India as they converted them to good effect.
One of the shots Mohammed Shami whipped with the brute force made a clean sound with the willow. This even amused Virat Kohli to the core who watched it at the gallery.
