“Lets have a great offseason… WORK”: Giannis Antetokounmpo channels his inner Kobe Bryant before getting on the offseason grind
Bucks’ superstar and newly crowned NBA Champion Giannis Antetokounmpo channels his inner Mamba as he prepares to start the offseason grind
It’s been 6 days since Milwaukee became the city of Champions once again. Six glorious days of celebration, fun, parties, and rest. While the others may look forward to taking some more time off, the same isn’t the case for Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Ever since he got into the league, the only thing that has helped Giannis is putting the work in. When he was drafted in 2013, not a lot was expected of the Greek youngster. However, Giannis knew what he wanted to accomplish. He put the work in and became the 2016-17 Most Improved Player. Giannis did not stop there. He wanted more, and he got it. The Greek Freak won back-to-back MVPs in 2019 and 2020. Giannis still wanted more, and he achieved just that. He led the Bucks to the 2021 NBA Championship, right after he signed a massive contract with them. He promised the city of Milwaukee a championship, and he got them just that.

If Giannis settled for what he achieved, he wouldn’t have gotten this far. Even though the 2x MVP achieved the ultimate goal he had set for himself, he still isn’t content. Once he has had the taste of success, he wants more. He’s hungry for more. The best part, he’s willing to put in the work for it.
Last night, he put up multiple stories, of different champions from the past. It started with a photo of Dwyane Wade, followed by Dirk Nowitzki, Hakeem Olajuwon, and finally Kobe Bryant. He followed their pictures with a story that read, “Let’s have a great off season… WORK”.

Another added motivator for Giannis might be seeing his teammates Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday represent Team USA at the Olympics, days after the Finals concluded. Whatever the case may be, it is inspiring to see the Finals MVP back in the gym, without even an entire week off. It should be fun to see how Giannis improves his game this offseason, and how much stronger he returns for the 2021-22 season.
