Cricket Australia announce playing XI for first Ashes Test
The titanic tussle between Australia and England for the historic Ashes is back to keep the visitors at the edge of their seats. When these 2 teams collide, it’s more than a war.
Cricket Australia announced their playing XI for the first Ashes Test that is scheduled to be played tomorrow at the Gabba, Brisbane which is going to be one heck of a contest.
Steven Smith and the team management have had enough ways to fathom the crunch playing XI that will have a go at the Joe Root-led team on a balming Thursday.
David Warner picked up a neck injury ahead of the Ashes during the training session at the Gabba turf. He was rushed to the hospital for the necessary treatment.
The Australia skipper provided an injury update of David Warner by saying that the specialist opener is raring to wield the bat as Warner’s injury has improved a bit.
Tim Paine will have an important role to keep the wickets and approach well with the bat. The No.1 ranked Test batsman Smith will make sure to tick the slick flow of runs.
The pace battery featuring the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood looks crispy. Australia have all the bases covered before heading to the Ashes battle.
Playing XI of Australia:
David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith (c), Peter Handscomb, Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon
