“If we had a spotter around the track– Pierre Gasly believes F1 drivers missed a golden opportunity by not noticing changes in Hungaroring
“If we had a spotter around the track”– Pierre Gasly opines that it was a blunder by all drivers to go out of the pit with intermediates.
During the Hungarian Grand Prix’s race, the rain came into add some excitement, but after the first turn chaos, the clouds of rain disappeared by the time drivers came outside the pits for the race to restart.
Mentioning that time, Pierre Gasly opines that all the drivers made a blunder by not observing the changes in the track and have never stepped out of the track with the intermediates only to go for the pitstops after the formation lap.
“It was very, very obvious because the track is very dark so as soon as the sun [comes] out, it dries very fast. Actually it’s maybe something where we should have risked to go outside with the medium [slick],” said Gasly.
“When everybody boxed, we should have taken the start with the medium,” he added. Only Lewis Hamilton remained on the track with the intermediates while the rest of the grid went for the slick, giving a hilarious sight to watch during the restart.
Why this was so funny. Only @LewisHamilton starting the race. Where are other Guys. Its the Strategic error made by @MercedesAMGF1 by not putting lewis on Soft tyres rather than leaving him on Interns in Dry Conditions pic.twitter.com/carqOnj4oY

Teams should have spotters.
Other racing series usually have spotters to inform the drivers about the changes in the track, which allows the teams to improvise and suit themselves to the situation.
“It’s something we need to do better,” Gasly continued. “If we had a spotter around the track, someone would have told us the track is completely dry. It was completely dry, so I’m surprised no one did it but it was a very obvious choice.”
Nevertheless, the confusion after the race only helped to add excitement to the race and allowed Esteban Ocon to be a Grand Prix champion for the first time in his career.
