ESPN analyst Stephen A Smith talks about how Ben Simmons can average up to 23-25 points, advocates a Warriors trade yet again

Ben Simmons is one of the elite players in the league. Take aside his shooting woes, especially in the playoffs for a second. Simmons is a 6’10, 240lb point guard.

He can handle the ball, make passes for the team, can finish at the rim, and is a solid overall defender. Sure, his shooting woes did potentially cost the Sixers the best shot they had at a title in decades.

There were many already finding trade options for Simmons as soon as the Sixers got eliminated. Stephen A Smith was the first one to suggest that Sixers trade Simmons to the Warriors.

However, the Sixers haven’t found a new home for Ben yet, probably because of their steep asking price. Recently while he was on 95.7 The Game, Smith talked about how Simmons would be an asset to the Warriors and can improve his game.

Stephen A Smith was recently on the Steiny, Guru, and Dibs show on FM 95.7 The Game. There he talked about how Ben Simmons can take his game to the next level.

Simmons is a good player, who cannot shoot. Smith believes if Simmons improves his free throws, and starts taking more shots, he can average 25 points per game easily.

“If you looked at Ben Simmons and realized that if he could shoot free throws in the 75-80% range, he would easily be a 23-to-25 point-per-game scorer. Without a jump shot, that’s how good he is.”

Smith then went back to advocating Simmons with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson on the Warriors.

The team Smith suggests would have an acute lack of floor spacing. Also, the Sixers already demanded one of the Warriors’ big 3. There is no way the Dubs would shake their core for Ben Simmons, at least no time soon. However, if Simmons heeds to Smith’s advice and improves his free throws, he can surely be more impactful to the game.
