Kohli last 10 Test innings: Virat Kohli falls cheaply after edging Sam Curran delivery to Jos Buttler at Lord’s
Virat Kohli last 10 Test innings: The Indian captain once again failed to convert his start into a match-saving innings at Lord’s.
During the fourth day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of England at Lord’s, India captain Virat Kohli became the third batsman from his team to get out in the morning session.
Following the likes of opening batsmen Lokesh Rahul (5) and Rohit Sharma (21), Kohli walked back to the pavilion after scoring 20 (31) with the help of four fours. Getting out minuted before the lunch break, Kohli’s dismissal has put India in huge trouble who lead by just 29 runs with five more session remaining in the match.
It all happened on the first delivery of the 24th over when England all-rounder Sam Curran managed to induce an outside edge of Kohli’s bat which was taken comfortably by Jos Buttler behind the stumps.
Giving the impression of playing for an in-swinging delivery, Kohli ended up edging a delivery which held its line to move away from the batsman with the angle.
Curran, who bowled 41 wicket-less overs before picking his first wicket of the series, was quick clearly delighted after sending back the Indian skipper at a crucial juncture in the match.
Virat Kohli last 10 Test innings
Kohli, who is undergoing a rough patch as the highest level, has scored only 280 runs in his last 10 Test innings at a below par average of 28. While Kohli has scored a couple of half-centuries in this period, his last century had come during India’s maiden pink-ball Test at home against Bangladesh in November 2019.

All three dismissals for Virat Kohli in this series… he has gotten out nicking at 5th or 6th stump. Trigger movement taking him too far across to chase wide deliveries.
Like he is waiting for the away going ball, but playing at it when he should be leaving. #EngvInd

I fear this game might have taken a decisive twist. I fear too about the patterns appearing in dismissals.

Kohli has now gone edging behind the wicket thrice, on each occasion the arm pushing at the ball.
