“I think it’s pretty clear on my end”– Pierre Gasly talks about his stance on possible Red Bull return
“I think it’s pretty clear on my end”– Pierre Gasly talks about his possible return to Red Bull as his current season with Alpha Tauri impresses the bosses.
Pierre Gasly is having a terrific season with Alpha Tauri, and with limited resources, he stands P8 in the championship standings with 50 points in his bank.
Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, the bosses at Red Bull, are impressed by his performances, and if Sergio Perez fails to perform in the following races, Gasly may get another shot at the top.
On the other hand, Gasly is totally in for a return to Red Bull, if the team recalls him, but also considering the team’s overall situation with the other drivers.
“See what happens”, Gasly regarding a possible return as Max Verstappen’s teammate. “I think it’s pretty clear on my end, it’s in Red Bull’s hands.”
“Max is signed for next year in the top team, Sergio I think has a one-year contract, so we’ll see what happens there and then what we do going forward together.”
A definitive answer is not far away.
Gasly then talks by when he can expect a definitive call from Red Bull, and according to him, it would be not much later than this summer break.
“I’m obviously contracted with them for some more time, and I’m pretty confident we should get some answers at some point during the summer break, or after the summer break,” he said.
Meanwhile, Perez, after having a good string of performances now, seems to struggle; in the last two races, he has only obtained blanks, though the poor turnover in the second race was not his fault and was steered out of the race.

But from here on, Perez would be walking on a block of thin ice before the Milton-Keynes-based team extends his stay.
