"Ferrari is going to do an electric Ferrari” - Alejandro Agag wants Ferrari to join Extreme E and Formula E

“Ferrari is going to do an electric Ferrari” – Extreme E founder Alejandro Agag wants Ferrari to follow McLaren and indulge in electric car racing.

Extreme E boasts of teams owned by F1 champions like Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and Nico Rosberg. And it recently got a massive dose of boost with McLaren confirming its participation in the series.

Founder of both Formula E and Extreme E, Alejandro Agag now wants the biggest name – Ferrari. He expressed delight in McLaren joining the series and wants Ferrari to follow in the F1 team’s footsteps.

“Well, of course, I would love to have Ferrari. You have seen the news lately that Ferrari is going to do an electric Ferrari.”

“The news (joining of McLaren) is the biggest in the short history of Extreme E. I want to welcome McLaren, I want to welcome Zak [Brown] – well he is already in the championship – but yeah, we will have some more surprises, maybe for season two.

“We will wait because this news is big enough to give us the momentum. Extreme E, this championship is growing all the time, to be so young and have, already, McLaren in the championship is amazing so hopefully, we will have some surprises soon.”

McLaren Racing CEO Brown has a team of his own in Extreme E – Andretti United. As the name suggests, it is a joint venture between his company United Autosports, and Andretti Autosport. Extreme E is also affiliated to the FIA, like Formula E.
