Real reason why Keith Lee has been wrestling Dark Matches
Real reason why Keith Lee has been wrestling Dark Matches. The former NXT Champion has been working dark matches since his WWE return.
Keith Lee was made to seem like a big deal before and immediately upon his WWE return. He became the first person to hold both the NXT and North American Championship shortly before his call up to RAW. He even picked up a win over Randy Orton on his first main roster PPV!

Lee seemed to be heading towards bigger things as he continued to remain in the WWE title picture before earning a U.S title shot against Bobby Lashley, involving Matt Riddle. However, medical issues kept him away from the ring for five months.
Since his return, Lee has wrestled more Dark matches than he has featured on television. In fact, his last TV appearance was on the August 2 RAW where he beat NXT Champion Karrion Kross.
He has since defeated Austin Theory in a dark match before the August 6 SmackDown, Chico Adams before the August 9 RAW, Niles Plonk in a pre-SmackDown dark match on August 13, and then defeated Casey BlackRose before last night’s RAW.
Real reason why Keith Lee has been wrestling Dark Matches
According to PWInsider.com, Keith Lee has been working WWE dark matches so that the company can figure out what’s best for him moving forward. According to the report, the dark matches were designed to be short squash matches to help WWE refine Lee for the main roster and decide what works for him.
This has resulted in the Limitless one being kept away from television or any prominent storyline heading into SummerSlam. We’ll have to wait and see what the WWE have in store for him.
Lee recently revealed that hat he suffered from heart inflammation after a bout with COVID-19. He shared the details on his Twitter account and spoke in detail about how grateful he was to receive proper care and treatment.
The first recording of this went over 13 minutes…..so I said and detailed far less, but I said enough.https://t.co/AtvGzJF7FX

Lee could very well go on to become one of their biggest stars. The Limitless One, who has come back after fighting for his life, has another fight waiting for him, this one, to climb the top of the mountain called WWE. Considering his potential and talent, it should be a matter of when and not if.
