Team India request BCCI to send 4 extra pacers to SA tour
In a productive news for India in the build-up to South Africa tour, Team India has requested Board of Control for Cricket in India to carry four extra fast bowlers for South Africa tour as per the recent report of Ahmedabad Mirror. By doing so, the batsmen can get a hoard of a practice session playing with different fast bowlers.
It is cognizance of the fact that Indian bowlers struggled to adapt to the unfamiliar climes of South Africa. The faster they adapt, the quicker that they can press and mount pressure on the opposition batsmen. But, the Indians haven’t done so when they toured South Africa in the earlier stages.
According to the source, this interesting move will certainly benefit the bowlers in many ways. The route map would give the young bowlers the much-needed knowledge on the game by gelling with the teammates.
The four young pacers who are selected for South Africa tour are Basil Thampi (Kerala), Mohammed Siraj (Hyderabad), Navdeep Saini (Delhi) and Avesh Khan (Madhya Pradesh). The young fast bowlers will get to learn a lot which also gives them the experience and confidence to make a steep bounce in their careers.
“It will serve a double purpose. The young pacers will learn a lot by travelling with the team and bowling to international batsmen. It will also reduce the workload of our pacers in the nets. The request is to keep them for at least three weeks,” a source told the newspaper.
