MS Dhoni is all set to enter 10,000 runs club in ODI cricket

The MS Dhoni story is without a doubt one of the greatest tales in 21st century India.

The rise of Mahi from a small town boy with big aspirations into a global superstar looks straight out a Bollywood script ( It actually is! ).

After over a decade of serving the nation, Dhoni has earned the respect of the entire cricketing world as the World Cup winning skipper now receives huge ovations when ever he strides out to bat.

Things have reached another level this season as Mahi walks out to thunderous ovations irrespective of the city that he is playing in.

But that hasn’t stopped the critics from taking out their knives whenever the wicket-keeper fails with the bat.

But as he has shown through out his career, Dhoni always responds with his bat as he engineered yet another rescue act for team India in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka.

India were tottering at 29/7 before Dhoni took control of proceedings. The Ranchi man scored a brilliant 65 as he took India to a score beyond 100.

While his innings was not enough to win the match, Dhoni gave us a timely reminder of his enormous value to the side.

Now he is in a unique position as he can become the fourth fastest batsman to reach 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.

Dhoni requires 109 more runs to reach this amazing milestone and will be the fourth Indian after Sachin, Saurav and Dravid to do so.

With India missing Kohli in the ongoing series, Dhoni will be required to shoulder extra responsibility in a relatively inexperienced team.

Rohit will be the skipper and will need his former skipper to help him out in the field.

All eyes will now turn to Mahi in Mohali!
