Virat Kohli wishes his fans a very Happy New Year on Twitter!

Indian skipper Virat Kohli is currently in South Africa, preparing for the first test against South Africa which will start in a few days from now.

The first test will take place in Cape Town, as Kohli will try to become the first Indian captain to win a series in South Africa.

Speaking to the media ahead of the first match, Kohli sounded very optimistic of India’s chances against the Proteas this time around.

“We come here wanting to express ourselves, believing in our abilities and knowing we have the right balance to win test matches under any conditions we play under.”

“This is an opportunity for us to play good cricket. We aren’t thinking about the history of past series in South Africa but concentrating on winning each session and executing our strategy well. I think international cricket is all about staying in the present and trying to do things better than your opposition at all times.”

“If we didn’t have that mindset, there would be no point getting on to the flight to come here.”

“We come to South Africa knowing the wickets are going to be different from those back home. We are under no illusions but we are ready for it.”

“Last time we were here there was a lot of talk about our batsmen being bounced out but we stood up rather nicely.”

Kohli is currently spending some time with his newly wed wife, Anushka Sharma in South Africa. India’s latest power couple tied the knot last month, as Kohli and Anushka exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Milan.

The Indian skipper has now sent a wonderful message to his fans, as he wished them all a very happy and prosperous new year.
