IPL 2018: 1122 Players register for IPL auction

The IPL auction is scheduled to be held on the 27th and 28th of January in Bengaluru with team set to undergo a major overhaul after the initial contract of 10 years came to an end after the last edition.

The IPL governing body though came up with the concept of ‘Player Retention’ in order to help teams maintain their core structure, which would in turn help fans feel some connect to the teams that they initially started out supporting.

Players have come in huge numbers for this year’s auction, with the IPL 11 getting 1122 registrations, the highest for any IPL auction until now.

The lists have already been dispatched to the eight franchises, with 281 capped players and 838 uncapped players registering for one of the biggest sport leagues in the world.

The Mega Auction also features 3 players from the associate nations.

Amongst the pool of Indian superstars, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and the spin twins(Yuzi Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav) should be grab the highest bids.

As far as the foreign stars are concerned, Ben Stokes is again expected to get the highest bid, as IPL franchises have always had this affinity for all rounders.
