WATCH: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma waste a review for India
Virat Kohli has been fortunate enough to have MS Dhoni by his side during his initial days of captaincy in the limited overs.
Dhoni has been very pro-active in setting the field and guiding the bowlers in times of despair. Also, he has always been a major deciding factor while going for the DRS.
And Kohli has almost always heeded Dhoni’s advice, especially when it comes to the DRS, but not this time.
The incident took place in the 36th over, when Jasprit Bumrah bowled one that drifted down the leg, with Morris attempting a flick off his pads.
Morris missed the ball altogether, and Dhoni too didn’t look that interested(neither did Bumrah), but Kohli and Rohit were extremely sure of it, as they felt that they heard a nick.
Kohli turned to Dhoni, asking him if he felt there was a nick, with Dhoni calmly saying no, but Rohit was very excited about it.
The Indian captain and the vice-captain then had a discussion of their own and ended up going for the review.
The referral suggested clear day-light between bat and ball, and India ended up losing their solitary review.
Kohli has to be more shrewd with his reviews, often getting too excited with appeals, and not taking time to consult the bowler and the wicketkeeper, both of whom are often the best judges of an appeal, because of having the best vantage point.

Match Situation:
Faf du Plessis came up with a captain’s knock, scoring a hundred when his team needed him the most.
South Africa have put up 269 on the board, with the lower order stringing decent enough partnerships with Morris and Phehlukwayo.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will have to put up a strong opening stand to ease off the pressure as it won’t be very easy chasing down 270 on this sluggish Durban track.
