Player Ratings from India’s victory over South Africa in the 6th ODI
India completed a wonderful ODI series triumph, as they comprehensively beat South Africa at hosts. The Indian bowlers starred with the bowl, especially the spinners. Chahal and Yadav were sensational, as their performances in the middle overs proved to be crucial for India’s success.
With the Indian top three in great form, the middle order hardly got a bat as the side easily overcame the South African challenge. Here are the Indian player ratings from the 6th ODI.
PLAYER RATINGS
Shikhar Dhawan – 5/10
The attacking batsman failed for the first time in the series, as Dhawan was dismissed cheaply for just 18. Nevertheless, Dhawan can take solace from the fact that he performed really well for India over the course of the series.
Rohit Sharma – 5/10
Fresh off his century in the last ODI, Rohit looked in great touch with the bat before he got out.
Virat Kohli – 9/10
Man of the match and man of the series, Virat Kohli was sensational at Centurion as he smashed his way to his 35th ODI century. He was clearly a cut above the rest, as Kohli went up a few notches in the eyes of the cricketing world.
Ajinkya Rahane – 6/10
Competent and efficient, Rahane supported his skipper and was remained unbeaten until the end. While Kohli was smashing boundaries at will, Rahane was steady and played a fine little innings.
Shreyas Iyer – 6/10
Iyer did not get to bat, but he was superb in the field. He took a wonderful catch of Markram, to cover up for his drop catches in the previous two matches.
Hardik Pandya – 7/10
Pandya had a great time with the ball, as the all-rounder gave away just 39 runs in his 10 overs and also picked up one wicket. Great bowling performance from Pandya!
MS Dhoni – 5/10
It was yet another quite outing for Dhoni, as the former Indian skipper breezed through the entire series without doing much.
Shardul Thakur– 9/10
It was a fantastic match for Shardul Thakur, as the pace bowler was in fine form. Thakur picked up four wickets in his first outing of the tour and impressed one and all.
Kuldeep Yadav – 7/10
Another good performance with the ball, as Kuldeep Yadav bowled really well in the middle overs. A wonderful series for him personally.
Yuzvendra Chahal – 8/10
Chahal was at his usual best at Centurion, as the leggie did not give runs and picked up a couple of wickets as well.
Jasprit Bumrah – 6/10
A decent performance by the young pacer, who looks a little jaded after a grueling tour. Got a couple of wickets for his efforts!
