Kevin Durant wants NBA to eliminate ‘One-And-Done’ rule

Kevin Durant is not a supporters of the ‘One and done’ rule and wants the NBA authorities to look closely into it and work towards scrapping it from the next season.

The ‘One and Done’ rule requires kids to go through at least a year of college before entering the draft. High school kids who want to play in the NBA can’t get through even if they have the required skill set to make it to the NBA, something that Durant feels shouldn’t be the case.

Durant feels that the rule isn’t really doing anything for the kids, apart from maybe wasting a possible year on the circuit for them.

Given a choice, KD said that even he would have opted out of the compulsory one year of college, as he needed the money.

KD wants the NBA to let the kids decide how they want to shape their Basketball career, and not intervene too much.

“Yeah, they should let these kids make a decision however they want to. Whether they want to come out of high school should be on them. You can’t control everything.

“If they feel as though they ready, that’s on them. If they want to make a decision on their life, that’s on them. If they don’t get drafted, that’s on them.

“You can try to control it, but you’re still not really doing anything.” KD said.

KD will be up against his former franchise today, as OKC visits the Oracle Arena tomorrow night. There will be a few scores to settle there as old teammates, Russel Westbrook and Kevin Durant take on each other in a pulsating contest.
