Ivan Rakitic is a major target for Liverpool in the summer
When Cesc Fabregas left Barcelona in 2014, many Catalans were wondering how they would replace the graceful Spaniard at the Nou Camp.
Fabregas arrived amidst much fan fare to Barcelona, as the returning hero was expected to finally replace the great Xavi. But Fabregas did not have a great time with the Catalans, as the Nou Camp often booed the midfielder.
Rakitic was brought in as Fabregas’ replacement, and immediately became a star for the Catalan side.

The classy Croatian formed a brilliant partnership with Busquets and Iniesta in the center of the park, as the trio were crucial in Barcelona’s treble winning season.
Rakitic has been great for Barcelona over the years, as he is held in very high esteem by the team and fans.
This is what Barcelona boss, Ernesto Valverde had to say,
“He’s very important. Not just for this game.
“In general he gives us balance, he stabilises us and has everything, goals, strategy and hard work.
“It’s a luxury to have him.”
But with the arrival of Coutinho in the January transfer window, many people expect Rakitic to leave the club in the summer. There are many clubs in the Premier League who are extremely interested in signing the Croatian, with Liverpool heading that queue.
Klopp is a huge fan of the midfielder, and wants to lure him to Anfield. Rakitic will surely be tempted by this move, as Klopp has created a very exciting Liverpool side during his team at Anfield.
