SRH want Kusal Perera to replace David Warner
David Warner has come out today and apologized for his part in the ball-tampering scandal that took place a couple of days ago.
Warner along with Steve Smith have been banned from international cricket for up to 12 months, and have seriously dented their reputations in the cricket world.
This is what Warner had to say,
“Mistakes have been made which have damaged cricket,” he said.
“It’s a stain on the game we all love.”
“To cricket fans in Australia and all over the world: I am currently on my way to Sydney.
“Mistakes have been made which have damaged cricket. I apologise for my part and take responsibility for it.
“I understand the distress this has caused the sport and its fans. It’s a stain on the game we all love and I have loved since I was a boy.
“I need to take a deep breath and spend time with my family, friends and trusted advisors. You will hear from me in a few days.”
This is what Aussie coach, Darren Lehmann had to say,
“There is a human side of this,” he said. “These are young men and I hope people will give them a second chance. Their health and wellbeing is extremely important to us.
“I worry about the three guys immensely. We love all of our players and they are going through a really tough time.”
Smith and Warner were set to lead their respective IPL teams, something that will not happen this year. Rajasthan Royals are currently looking to find a replacement for Smith, and have already named Rahane as their new skipper.
SRH have announced Kane Williamson as their new skipper, and are trying to get Sri Lankan batsman, Kusal Perera as a replacement for David Warner.
“IPL team SunRisers Hyderabad has approached Kusal Janith Perera as a possible replacement for Banned David Warner, deal yet to be finalized, said a source.
