David Warner will not appeal against his ban imposed by CA
David Warner’s life has been turned upside down over the last two weeks, as the Aussie star is now banned for 12-months following his part in the ball tampering scandal that took place in the Cape Town test match.
Warner, along with Smith and Bancroft were the only three players who knew about this, and were subsequently caught red handed by the television cameras.
Cricket Australia took severe action against them, as Bancroft was banned for nine months, while Smith and Warner were barred from playing state and international cricket for twelve months.
While some people have criticized the severity of the decision, Cricket Australia had to take some serious action and show the world that you cannot get away from cheating in the game, no matter how big of a name you are in the world of cricket.
Warner and Smith and two of the best batsmen of their generation, and their absence will be a huge blow to the Australian cricket team. The pair will also miss the IPL as a result of this, as SRH and RR will miss their brilliant Aussies.
Warner has now come out and said that he will not contest the ban imposed by CA, and that he will concentrate on becoming a better person first.
“I have today let Cricket Australia know that I fully accept the sanctions imposed on me. I am truly sorry for my actions and will now do everything I can to be a better person, teammate and role model,” Warner tweeted.
