I don’t care so much about other teams, says Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso doesn’t quite entertain questions about his former F1 teams as over the years he has been flooded with questions regarding his former employers’ performance on the race tracl.

The McLaren-Honda relationship was a pained one, a pain that Alonso endured for three long years and literally forced McLaren to make a switch. The switch has worked to some extent for McLaren and Alonso, although Honda too is performing decently well with Toro Rosso.

Toro Rosso managed to finish fourth in Shanghai, a finish that Honda wasn’t able to achieve with McLaren in three years.

[“Bahrain] was a very nice weekend for them,” Alonso said regarding Toro Rosso’s finish in China, as reported by Motorsport.com

“To be honest, after 18 years in Formula 1, to answer after one good qualifying or one good result from any team makes no sense.” he added.

Alonso has been frustrated with questions about his former employers for some time now, with his move from Ferrari haunting him till now.

“I’ve been answering about Ferrari in 2015 and 2016,” Alonso said.

“After I left Ferrari, every win, every podium they were achieving, you asked me about if I regretted when I left Ferrari.

“After four years Mercedes keep winning and they have four championships and now you are not asking me about Ferrari, you’ve changed for Toro Rosso.

“Or Renault, in 2005 and 2006 I won two championships with them and now they are competitive again.

“I don’t care so much about other teams. It’s just funny how people get excited about the ex-teams when they are OK.

“They ask me and I don’t care too much.” he concluded
