MS Dhoni wants two extra runs every time the ball goes out of the ground
Could we see a massive rule change for IPL 2019?!
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni had asked for extra 2 runs for long sixes. He said it after a successful chase of 202 with a ball to spare against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
This is what Dhoni had to say after the match,
“There were a lot of sixes, a lot of them went out of the stadium,” said Dhoni. “I feel the IPL needs to add two runs more every time you hit it out of the stadium.”
A few days ago, Dean Jones took it to the social media Twitter to support the idea of offering a couple of bonus runs on long sixes. The former Australian star said that he would love to see a batsman getting 8 runs for six more than 80 meters.
Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan posted a tweet which set the social media scene on fire.
Replying to Cricket Australia’s tweet on 2 extra runs for longer sixes, he wrote, “Yeah great idea – while you are at it… if a stump gets knocked out of the ground or a catch gets taken one handed then the team loses 3 wickets.”

South African pace bowling legend, Dale Steyn enjoyed the tweet by Mitchell McClenaghan and couldn’t resist himself from replying. He came in support of the Kiwi pacer and praised him for his thoughts. We wonder is the next step!
Here’s what he replied:
