India will not play the day night test match at Adelaide
India is set to play Australia in a four test match series later this year, as Virat Kohli’s men will look to become the first Indian team to win a series down under.
Kohli was superb in India’s last tour to Australia, as he scored four centuries in four test matches in the 2014-15 season. Back then Kohli was slowly evolving into a superstar, as his performances in Australia took his game to another level.
Now, Kohli is a world class player at the top of his game, as the Indian skipper is now the standard bearer of batsman ship for this generation.
Australia wanted India to play a day night test match this year, but the idea was quickly shot down by the Indian team.
“The BCCI COA (Committee of Administrators) had sought the opinion of coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli on the matter. And they are not keen to give any advantage to Australia,” the official said as quoted by India Today.
“Adelaide may well host the first Test of the tour and the moving pink ball would become their best bet to win,” a BCCI source confirmed to India Today.
Low Test crowds remain an issue in India like in the other nations of the world. With ICC leaving it up to the home and away boards in scheduling a bilateral series, playing condition will continue to be a bargain plot among the boards.
It looks like Indian fans will have to wait a bit longer to play a day-night test match!
